10 weeks...and Best Birthday surprise ever!

What an awesome Birthday surprise!  I'm so excited to announce that, as of right now, Lentil has reached his  fundraising goal and the cost of all of his surgeries is covered!!  It's because of your generosity, that this little puppy will be receiving the best of care!  On behalf of FBRN, I just wanted to say "Thank you- with all of my heart."  It's just simply amazing!

Moving forward...as it seems that's exactly was Lentil was placed into this world to do- we are collecting for other animals in need through FBRN (www.frenchbulldogrescue.org), STAR (www.streettails.org) and also my wonderful new friends at www.ccakids.org who could use your support for all of the beautiful children and families they are helping!  Please take a moment and check out all of these incredible organizations, as this is no longer about just one puppy in need...it's about making a difference in the lives of many!  Be sure to tell them Lentil sent you!  <3

To help to kick off this awesome partnership- my friends here in Philly have been working their tails off to prepare for Lentil Fest!!  It's going to be 4 days of fun!  We are starting off by having a concert at the Blockley with Tommy Conwell on May 2, then a raffle/auction at North Bowl 7-10pm on May 3rd!  May 4th, FBRN and STAR are hosting an Adoption Event on Liberties Walk, in front of Chic Petique from 12-4, and then 2 more concerts at The Fire on Sat with Kuf Knotz and Sun night with The Lawsuits!  Woohoo!!  This is gonna be an amazing event- and all proceeds are going to be split between all 3 organizations!!  Stay tuned for flyers and more detailed info!!

I'm just so overwhelmed by the love and support that we are receiving!  I couldn't have asked for anything more...and it's just incredible to be able to take it to the next level.  All of this positive energy is exactly what Lentil needs to be surrounded by as we get closer and closer to his surgery.  It's amazing the healing power that love has :)

  6. I agree! I found Lentils' story on the internet and have followed it all day, every day. If at all possible, he was meant to be with you...you're his forever home! He's a breath of fresh air to the world and I would love to continue following his story.Bless you for all you've done for him. He's healthy, happy and loved and in return he's giving you all the love he has to give. We love our Little Bean!! And you!!

  8. I think it is so wonderful that Lentil can use his "celebrity" (for lack of a better word) to bring awareness to many organizations and issues. I've learned a lot since I began following Lentil a few weeks ago, when he only had 15k followers, and I'm sure that most other people who follow Lentil would say the same thing. Lentil's celebrity is just a bonus, though - the real important thing is that Lentil has not only survived, he has thrived and become a happy, healthy and well-socialized puppy. Lentil just wants to stay healthy and enjoy whatever each day brings ... with Mom and his fur-family.

  9. Great news. All good reasons to share the wealth as they say. I agree with so many that you, Lindsay are his mama. He has done nothing but thrive with you. He is the picture of health, despite his problem. You really should keep him as part of your family. I thank God for people like you. I could never do what you do. God's blessings to you.

  11. We are lucky to have two great dogs that mean so very much to us. One a 90 pound Mastiff/boxer mix and a mixed breed who looks like a Vizsla hunting dog. He has webbed feet. We found him living under a neighbors house and near death. We nursed him back to health and although he seems to have a little rear leg weakness sometimes, he can run like the wind. It is so nice to hear that there is hope for not quite perfectly healthy animals and people to. Baby our Boxer seems to perk up and watch the screen a little when I am watching Lentil. Lentil is speaking with cuteness for those who aren't able to speak for themselves. When he grows up he would make a great therapy dog methinks.

  12. Lindsay, your dedication and selflessness are so eloquently conveyed in this blog and on the Facebook page. You've given this little guy a voice to go with that face we've all fallen in love with. It's so easy from afar to think Lentil will eventually have a perfectly normal life an that he's out of the woods now. You've said it so many times in so many ways that he has many challenges yet ahead, any of which could be fatal to him. No one wants to hear that, but everyone must prepare themselves for that possibility. Of course, we all love him and that's thanks to you for sharing him with us. We want the very best for him, and he's certainly got that. I cannot begin to imagine the physical and emotional toll this must take on you. It must be exceeded only by the enormous rewards of seeing him thrive and the support of so many thousands of people rooting for him. I know it must weigh heavily on you the horrible thought that if the worst were to happen how you'd have to tell us all and deal with not only your grief but countless others'. If his and your indomitable spirits combined with medical skill and the love of so many can do it, clearly this little precious baby will make it through and continue his joyful life and being an inspiration to the world.
